earth hour

31 March, 8.30pm ~ 9.30pm  ... every year is Earth Hour



But .....is ONE hour .... enough ???

Tau tak, that Earth Hour was inspired by a demonstration in Sydney, Australia on March 31, 2007.

The goal, is to inspire people to reduce their energy consumption every day, not by sitting in the dark for an hour each night.  Here are a few steps which we can take :-

1.  Turn off your television, video, charges, playstation, and other devices when they are not being used.

2.  Do not leave your television etc in standby mode. Devices can use up to 90% as much power in standby mode as when they are on, so it is a serious waste of energy when a device is left constantly on standby.

3.  Replace all of your inefficient incandescent light bulbs with energy efficient bulbs. Replace halogen spotlights with much more efficient and longer lasting LED Spotlights.


4.  Turn off the water when you are brushing your teeth and take shorter showers.  This will not only save water, but it will also save the electricity that it takes to pump and heat the water.

5.  Use a microwave to reheat food or to cook small portions. Although a microwave uses a lot of power, it does so over a very short time and so saves energy overall.

6.  Keep your fridge full, but not so full that air cannot circulate properly.


7.  Decide what you want from the refrigerator or freezer before you open them so you don’t waste electricity by standing there looking inside and keeping the door open.

8.  Cool cooked food before you put it into the fridge.

9.  Do not put uncovered liquids into the fridge. Their evaporation will make the fridge have to work harder.

10.  Heat only as much water as you require for drinks and cooking. If you keep forgetting, purchase an energy efficient eco kettle.

11.  Use a convection oven. A small fan inside circulates hot air throughout the oven cutting cooking times by up to 30%.

12.  Don't keep opening the oven door. Every time you do so, your oven loses 20°C of heat.

13.  Put lamps in the corner of a room so that the light is reflected off two walls.

MODE : Dream on...

was blog-walking last few days ....


normally i read on masak memasak la ... carik resepi .... masaknya ... belum tentu bila la kann... yg penting carik resepi and simpan... bila datang mode : rajin ... haaaa x yah tercarik carik kaann...

pastu, i read on people globetrotting around the globe ni.... style backpack la, yg ikut tour la .... Malaysian ke, omputih ke .... yg omputih ni payah sket nak ikut la ... diaorg nye style ni ganazz sket ... Yg bestnye... yg group gi style backpack ni ... mostly muda muda lagi.... under 3series....

Ye la kan, zaman dah berubah ... taim i muda muda lu, mana ade 'Pak Tony' ni ... huish mahal tu kalu nak g obesi ... Keje pun mase tu ... ape jek, gaji pun ciput!. Mase tu dok pikir nak simpan $$ nak kawen ...(ish ish gate betui... nak kawen jek...) mase tu ade gak gi jenjalan... dgn pak we ... takat local ajela... Bab yg ni ... mak pak pun x tau .... sssshhh ... tp skrang da kawen pun ngan dia... ^__^

so ... ni nak citer ape sebenor nye ni ....???

ooo.... blog-walking ... jumpe satu ni ... he n gang was plannin for Euro trip ... they plan to go in 2/3 month taim!! Mak aii .... nak g Euro dalam mase 2/3 bulan tu ... budget sorang was for +/- RM6k jek!!!  Ni mesti gaji beso kaan... Teman nak nyimpan bayak tu pun .... payah!! bila dah bayak sket .... ade jek hal ... dah kena korek tabung ayam.


So, ... i pun nak plan my Euro trip jugak la...


huish ... cam ne nak stat ni ... ok, where do i wan to go? .... hmmm (sambil garu pala..)

mestila from London ... sbb AA ade route to London...

ok x? ... x tengok flight / train dia lagik ... jom kita carik ek...

KL-London ... AA la ofcos.. uiik...?? no flights to London after March 2012...?? hmmm nk stop dah kut macam Christchurh!! Aargh ... punah sudah ....

tu... belum masuk accomodation .... makan ... duit tangan ... sopping !!! Baru 4 cities wif 3 days at each. OMG!!!


So, how does these people can travel cheap!!!

I guess, ... for me, is to keep on dreaming ... travel the world thruu their eyes .....

gembala kambing ...

petang ahad lak ... gi jalan jalan kat bukit belakang umah (???), amek angin ... jumpala satu gembala kambing ni... weols pegila bertanya kabar.. "ape kabar ?" .... "Kambing ada sihat ka?" banyakla kitaorng sembang2 .... pas tu dia ajak kitaorg kongsi makanan dia .....

** kalau la belakang umah ade bukit cam ni ...**

Shepherds Pie …

 hehehe .... resepinya ikut Gordon Ramsay nye. Abang gordon (ala ala manja ...gitu).. i kopi paste resepi u ek...

 
  • 80ml olive oil
  • 2 large onions
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 3 carrots grated
  • 1 kg minced meat
  • 2 tbsp tomato puree
  • 250ml chicken stock pakai air biase je
  • 100ml red wine  ofcos tak guna yng ini ...
  • Large dash Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp thyme, chopped  pakai mixed herbs je

For the mashed potato topping:

  • 1kg potatoes, peeled
  • 150g butter
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 3 egg yolks  tak pakai pun
  • 50g Parmesan cheese, grated

How to make Gordon's shepherd's pie

1. Pre- heat the oven to 200°C.
2. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan and fry the onions, garlic carrots until golden. Season then add the rosemary, cook for approx 5 minutes. In a separate pan cook the minced meat until browned, add the thyme leaves, stirring constantly to break up the meat and ensure it cooks evenly. When the mince is browned, remove from the pan and place on a lined plate to remove excess fat, add the mushrooms to this pan and sauté for approx 5 minutes or until lightly golden.
3. Add the tomato puree and the cooked mince to the carrots and onions pour over the red wine and reduce by approx half. Season with a little salt and pepper then add the stock and a good dash of Worcestershire sauce. Gently simmer for 20 minutes or so, until the meat is cooked and the mixture has thickened. Spoon the mixture into an ovenproof serving dish.
4. Boil the potatoes and cook for about 20 minutes until softened. Drain and cover with a lid to steam 'dry' and reduce any excess moisture. Add the butter and egg yolks and mash thoroughly, grate half the parmesan into the potato and mix well. Don't allow the potato to become too wet or they won't crisp up nicely in the oven. Season.
5. Spoon the potato mixture over the meat, sprinkle with the remaining parmesan and finish with a drizzle of olive oil.
6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden

walla siaaap!! ... yg ade cuma cheddar cheese, so bakar pun die x macm cheese yg atas pizza tu ... x kisahla kan .. janji malatoppp!!

Molten Lava Cake
113gm coklat, cairkan
113gm butter
2 telur
1/3cwn gula
1/4cwn tepung
~ Panaskan oven 180C
~ mix butter, coklat, gula,telur
~ Pastu add-in tepung
~ Bake for 12 - 15mins, shorter for gooey inside and longer kalu nak keras sket... I baked for close to 20 minits


Huuuu ... naik cantek ... ade gak yg sebuk kat background tuuu!! Sabo pa, panas lagik tu
After 15 minits ... turun ...
Dalam dia x gooey sangat.... texture macam pudding .... klu nak gooey n cam cair ... shortenkan baking time tu, ek
After 10 minits .....

Hari Ahad...

Today, hari ahad ... hari i masak .... Hari Ahad je ke i masak? Yup,... hari ahad yg selalunya rajin sket ... heh heh ...

so, pagi tadi we went to ....

macam macam ade kat sini ... For yg jarang datang kat cini, kalu nak datang ... make sure sampai awai-awai ..ok. Kalu x ... nak masuk parking >>> jem!! Nak keluor parking pun jem!! sampai umah dah letih nak masak!! heh .. heh.. alasan males masak ....^__^     Selalunya weols gi cni nek motor jek ... senang pegi balik umah ... +- satu jam jek . Tu pun carik ape yg nak aje ... Nek moto kan ... so x leh bawak byk barang sangat... Kalu round sume gerai ... RM100/200 pun boleh habis... ntah ape-ape je yg dibeli !!


So, tadi we bought .....
Pisang ...
Buah kundang .... buah ni kann, last week beli ...RM5 sekilo. Ari ni >> RM7 lak... boleh sesuka ati letak rege kut. Tapi dah nak ... beli aje la kan ...
Ni la ghopenye... makan skali ngan kulit ok... sedap manis. cam mango .. bebudak ni x penah makan buah ni ... bila dah beli ... 2 minggu berturut2 beli ... Buah Kundang ni ... klu kat kampung panggil ... buah ghomenia
Buah  stoberi ... ha ha ha ... X la, buah pelam.
And pokok .... ismet "ulam raja".... last pokok ... 3 henget jek!!

sebab yg paling musabab is nak carik ni....
Ikan terubuk masin ... 2 = 10 henget! Adik paggil ikan ni .. ikan terburuk!! Last week beli gak ... tp, x de rezeki... kucing bawak lari da ...

kunyit hidup
serai
santan
garam
rebung 
Tumbuk cili api & bawang putih, serai, garam dan kunyit hingga lumat. Masukkan daging, bahan tumbuk dan santan ke dalam periuk. Masak di atas api sederhana hingga mendidih. Masukkan rebung n asam keping. Masak antara 15-20 minit.

picnic .... not panic!!

today we went jogging n picnic kat mana lagi , klau bukaannn..... bukit jalil park. Itu yg dokek!! Malas nak gi jauh jauh...

Wat markonah aje .... makaroni goreng & neskopi ... simple!!
 
Kelaparan semuanya ... coz ... mama dia bawak lari / jalan lame sket ... dekat 45 minit !!!
Makan pa, makan ...
Budak-budak main bola ...

free trip ...

Ari tu kaan menang 'Lucky draw' .... so, this week berjalanla weols ke sana ...

The lucky draw ... hadiah ke-65, voucher one nite stay (bukan one nite stand ....!!)
By kul 2pm, we reached PeeDee. Dah lama x datag sini ... last taim was ...eeeeerrm maybe 2007 or 2008, we went to Avillion. Lama dah tuu... bebudak ni pun kecik lagi.
